    UNDER STRICT EMBARGO:
10AM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME (PST) JANUARY 16TH 2020
    MicroFreak receives new oscillator
and more in 2.0 firmware update
On top of announcing KeyLab Essential 88 and KeyStep Pro at NAMM 2020, French audio pioneers Arturia have also revealed a surprise update to their incredibly popular MicroFreak digital synth.

The MicroFreak 2.0 update adds several exciting new features and functions, refines some existing ones, and fixes a few minor bugs.
    New Features
    • New Noise oscillator: morph between particle noise, white noise, and a metallic noise that’s reminiscent of a synth cymbal. An exciting new voice that will open up powerful new drum and percussion possibilities in MicroFreak.
    • Chord Mode: by holding the Paraphony button and playing some notes, you program the chord, then replay the shape with a single key.
    • Scale quantization: In the Utility settings, you can activate scale quantization to your favorite scale. When activated, the “white notes” on the keyboard play whichever scale you have selected. No more wrong notes!
    • Sequencer streamlining: in 2.0 firmware update, you’re now able to easily copy
    • Pattern A to Pattern B in an instant.
    • Matrix initialize: before 2.0 firmware update, if you wanted to clear the Matrix of all routings, you’d have to manually do it. Now you can just hold the Shift and perform a long press on the encoder, and it will clear!
    • 64 New Presets: Loads of exciting sounds to explore using the new oscillator and features.
    Improvements
    • MicroFreak now displays visual feedback even when Local Control is off.
    • The synth’s Local Control now also translates USB to MIDI Out.
    • The release of currently playing presets are now cleared when switching to a new one.
    • The Record LED now blinks on each beat, instead of on 16ths.
Thanks to MicroFreak’s digital mind, the team at Arturia will be able to offer more exciting updates and improvements like this over time, ensuring that MicroFreak is always fresh and relevant.

To update your synth, simply connect it to your computer, load up the Arturia MIDI Control Center, and hit the “update” button for MicroFreak.
To hear the new oscillator in action, check out the Arturia booth at NAMM 2020: Hall A, booth 11910.

    PRESS RELEASE
    12 DECEMBER 2019
    Dear {firstname},
French music hardware and software developers Arturia have announced Pigments 2.
For review enquiries please e-mail: pr@arturia.com
Arturia reveal Pigments 2: new granular and sampling engines, and more.
Get ready to add a whole new level of color and depth to your music. Pigments is a hugely versatile software synth that combines virtual analog, wavetable, sampling, and granular synthesis all in one instrument.
It makes advanced modulations seem like child’s play, so you can bring your sounds to life with animations, sequences, macros, and bring it all together with incredible effects. Pigments hits the perfect balance of sounding incredible and having hugely powerful features, while at the same time being intuitive and easy to use.
Arturia have launched Pigments version 2, a free update for existing users, and a special intro price to celebrate the update.
Just one year on from releasing Pigments, a powerful twin engine, modulatable software synth, Arturia have given the instrument a major update. Pigments version 2 introduces impressive new features such as sample playback, granular synthesis, a revamped sequencer, a new filter, delay effect, and new presets to show off all these new abilities.

Pigments version 2 is available as a free update to all Pigments owners. To update, they simply need to run the update in the Arturia Software Center.
Exclusive deals will be available for existing Arturia customers and V Collection owners.
"To say we’re proud is an understatement," says Sam Limier, a key player in the Arturia team responsible for bringing Pigments to life. "What started as a dream is now a reality, and we couldn't be more excited to let new and old customers alike experience Pigments like never before. The first version was audacious, but Pigments 2 brings the reality much closer to our original ambition. I look forward to hearing how musicians integrate all this granular synth and sample-shaping power with the crazy modulation stuff Pigments is capable of."
    Pigments 2 Intro offer
To celebrate the launch, Arturia are also running a promotional offer:
    Usually $199 / 199€
    Free update for existing users
    50% Off intro offer: $99 / 99€
    Exclusive price for Arturia customers

    Until January 7, 2020
    What’s new in version 2?
    New Sample Engine
Explore hundreds of samples, import your own, load them into one of 6 different slots with 6 playback modes. Loop, edit, and bring them to life with Pigments’ modulation abilities.

    New Granular Mode
Add another level to your sound design by transforming samples into granular synth patches at the touch of a button, adjust density, envelope, size, and exciting randomization parameters.

    New Sequencer
The in-built sequencer now lets you apply randomness in a non-destructive way, letting you always return back to where you started, perfect for live performance and improvisation.

    New Filter and Delay
We’ve added the iconic sound of the Buchla Easel low pass gate and a space-age tape echo to Pigments’ sonic arsenal, for some seriously nice warping, contorting analog flavor.

    Refined Features
What would an update be without little improvements here and there? New interface, MPE capability, new undo/redo functionality and enhanced modulation bar await you.

    New Presets
To show off the new features, our team of heroic sound designers have created hundreds of breathtaking new sounds for you to explore and use in your tracks.

    Ready to get started?
Maybe you want to check out some videos before you jump in?
A video guide to the new features in Pigments 2. We hope you enjoy using Pigments 2, and we look forward to hearing what you make with it.
